Computer Crashes Only When Playing 2 Specific Games

I know there are a lot of discussions with similar titles. I've tried many of the suggested solutions, but none have fixed my issue. My computer completely locks up when playing Minecraft, and now Rust. Locks up isn't the right term. The screen goes black then gives the searching for input message, and the speakers lock up with whatever the last sound playing was.

I'm leaning towards hardware issue at this point.

It happens with only these 2 games. I've played, and very recently, much more taxing games for extended periods of time. Rust is new, but Minecraft has played smoothly on this rig before. Only hardware changes I can recall since the last time I played it are new fans. No, it's not heat. read on.

The logs haven't been of any help for me. - Not that I'm a pro at reading them, but log after log, I can find nothing in common prior to crashes.

Almost positive it isn't a heat issue. I've both logged and actively monitored temps right up until crash. Seeing as how I can easily replicate the crash, it's very easy to know when to watch. CPU has been in the mid 30's, GPU has been below 50. These are almost idle temps.

Thing's I've tried:
*Reinstalling programs
*Making sure all drivers are up to date
*Reinstalling Java, most recent version, both 64bit and 32bit. (from when I was trying MC. I don't believe Rust runs with Java.)
*Installing a different OS. I was on Win 8.1 when I first noticed the issue. I reinstalled 7 because that was what I was using last I played Minecraft.
*Checked HDs using Scandisk. Plural, 2 disks. Minecraft runs on my boot disk, Rust on my second. So i don't think this is the issue.
*Memory - I haven't ruled this out, but I find it exceedingly unlikely. I've removed 2 sticks, crash. Replaced them with the other 2 sticks, crash. I've used the windows memory diagnostic tool which found nothing.
*Virus scanned clean with up to date, clean install of Norton.
*Scanned with Malwarebytes.
*Checked connections.

It's possible I've tried other things, and just can't remember right now. I'm pretty fried at the point of writing this. I was willing to let it go when it was only MC, but now that it's doing it with a new game I just bought, I need to get this fixed.

Gigabyte GA-P45T-ES3G board
Intel Q6600 Quadcore @2.4
4x4GB sticks of G.SKILL Ripjaws DDR3 1600
EVGA GTX 570hd
Antec Truepower Quatro 1000w psu.
I bet I can even find links for these thanks to Newegg...

Fire away. I'm out of ideas. Let me know what other information you might find helpful.

Edit: Everything is factory clocked. I've never touched any of the settings.

I've updated the BIOS, though I think it was already. Didn't help.

I've also learned that it could be an audio issue causing a complete crash? I've tried to turn off everything except the onboard sound that I'm using, but I'm not sure I did it right. As all computers are different I had a hard time finding a good guide, and I've never had to do something like that before. If someone could help me with this I'd appreciate it. Either to fix the problem, or to rule it out completely.
