Interesting thread considering this post from yesterday:-

gokul36 said:
Can I mix and match graphics cards that have different GPUs?
No. For example, an XXXGT cannot be paired with a XXXGTX in an SLI configuration.

Can I mix and match graphics cards with different sizes of memory?
No. For example, an XXXGT 512MB cannot be paired with a XXXGT 1GB in an SLI configuration.

kid.....go home .......I have SLI more system.....i have experience and i know

@Mousemonkey... That's the exact thread that came to my mind.
@gokul36 Please don't be rude and don't be overconfident in yourself. We're all here to learn.

However, can a 650Ti and a 660 work? They have the same basic GPU, GK106 I think, but just that there are 4 SMX's in the 650Ti and 5 in the 660.

GPU's with different core counts will not SLi. The 660's are a case in point, there are three of them and they can't be cross SLi'd as it were. No mix and match.

That is from about 2005 IIRC and is no longer relevant, the clue is in the GT being at the end of the numbers and not in front and also the 512MB bit. When did you last see a 512MB card?

what is the difference between "size" and "memory"?
Answer is yes. The memory used will be equal to the lower one.
