It seems to be random. Sometimes when I wake up it will be shut off and I will have a black screen saying that windows did not shut down properly. Ive used malwarebytes, PC is clean. This is a new problem that has just started. Any suggestions? Windows 7 64bit.

k, well that's s3 sleep. the ram is still powered in this mode. when power is dropped completely windows sees this as a power off.

if you send it to sleep and pull the plug you should get the same end result. there's no work around really... just stop getting power off's in the night or power off completely instead of sleep.

nothing bad will happen with a couple of these / month btw, the hdd-s are powered out when in s3, so it should be no problem even if you ignore the issue.

ive had this PC for almost a year and have never had any issue with it powering down during sleep mode. Why is it starting to shut down now? I dont want to have to wait for my PC to boot up each time I try to use it.

either your psu is failing due to wear - but i doubt it, you would have other issues if this was the case - or the power is lost in all the house causing the pc to stop too - and this can't be fixed really... or the power socket where the pc powers from has issues.
