Upgrading my computer. I poorly bought an all-in-one machine when I made my last purchase (wasn't gaming much then). Now I'm upgrading to a tower with an i7-4770k and a GTX780Ti. Only thing left is what monitor to get.

This machine is primarily for gaming. Should I buy something cheap and wait for G-Sync displays? If so, then what do you all recommend for gaming?

If not, what do you recommend? 1080p or 1440p? And which one of the way too many options out there?

Thanks for the help.

gsync is currently only available on specific asus demo screens and only at 1080p, its still being tested and not on sale yet. prices for fist adopters will likely be a bit on the steep side. so i would say get something like a 1920/1200 or 1080p for now and invest in a gsync screen the end of next year.
the performance dip going form 1080p to 1440p is about 30% on some games which means your likely to struggle to keep 60 fps minimum at max settings for games like bf4.

sweet pairing btw.. you defiantly learned your lesson well.

Haha yes, definitely learned my lesson not to buy all-in-ones anymore. Seemed like a good move originally but no doubt about it being anything but.

As for 1080p screens, do you have any recommendations? I feel like I've spent the last week just reading and reading about all sorts of monitors, and options, and so forth and am left more confused instead of properly informed. My budget is flexible if the product makes sense.
