I am looking at a mobo for my first buidl, the every time I decide to get it..some of the bad things will come up in the review & customers feedback...
I wanted to get the Gigabyte-H87-Hd3 then I changed my mind coz I had a glance at the cheaper one Gigabyte-H81m-DS2, as the H87-Hd3 has 4 slots for memory and AMD-Cross Fire enabled + more connectors than H81m-DS2, but I don't need those extra slots & connectors, coz I dont have the budget to use the 4 Ram & 2 GPU slots.
Now the thing which is holding me back is that will the life-span of the cheaper one will be the same as the H87, I guess it will be the same because it says H81 also has Solid Capacitors but I am not Sure..coz I dont know if the Solid Capacitors is the only thing which sets the life-span of a mobo for a long time ???
Intel 4570
Gigabyte H81M-DS2
Corsair Value Select x1.4gb
Corsair cx-430
Western Digital Blue 1tb

Read my signature, that's my build. More expensive board only adds more features, such as HDMI port, more RAM slots and SLI ports, otherwise the build quality is all the same. Although,i would like you to look at either Asus or Asrock boards, in my opinion, they are much better quality than Gigabyte. If you don't overclock or don't need extended slots go for h81 board, you won't be needing a more expensive one, it all depends on need not quality.

I had a tight budget as well and the vendor didn't had an Asus board, that's why i opted for Gigabyte instead.

I have bought the H81 board recently. The build quality is all the same, in the same line of chipset but if you have the money, go for H87, instead, it gives more flexibility for future upgrades, like RAM or GPU, also feature more 6 GB Sata and USB 3.0 connectors.

The motherboards are also built with full solid capacitors as well as low RDS MOSFETs. Both of these allow the motherboard to have a longer lifetime, as they are rated to withstand operation at higher temperatures than cheaper alternatives.
