opinions on updating drivers via windows update

i currently have a soundbalster recon3D sound card. i have the latest drivers from the website however, my windows update has a suggested optional driver update for this sound card.

what is the downfall of updating my sound card drivers with windows update vs just staying with the updated drivers from the soundblaster website?

Hello... i have found the Windows suggested driver will make some devices un-useable after installing them... "if it ain't broken don't try and fix it..." if you have Rock Solid performance with your PC and hardware, don't ever update things... and keep a record of drivers for future re-installs.
