I just build a gaming PC and can not get the HDMI on my XFX double D 7970 to diplay video and audio. The DVI works fine. The funny thing is if I connect to my monitor via HDMI I get display all the way up to the "starting windows" screen. After that there is no display. Furthermore, if I boot in safe mode the HDMI works fine. Does this mean it is a software issue? So far I have tried multiple HDMI cables, the most recent CCC drivers (including beta), reinstalling drivers, 2 TVs, different screen resolutions (all the way down to 800X600),and updates MOBO drivers and BIOS. I have yet to figure out a solution other than just using DVI, as I would like to use the hdmi and monitor speakers for general use to cut down on wires.

System specs:
i7 4770K
MSI z78 G41 PC mate
8 gb g.skills sniper
XFX double D 7970 core edition
XFX propower 650W PSU
Acer H223H 23" monitor
Windows 7

Yes you can run the monitor and TV simultaneously with DVI and HDMI. Eyefinity makes multiple monitors look like one big screen. You can use the traditional extended desktop mode as well as the SLS (Single Large Surface - the "SurroundVision" mode).

I need to test my TV with the newest version of CCC, so hopefully that works. Can I run my monitor with DVI and TV with HDMI at the same time or do I need to get eyefinity?

Okay, so last night I tested the HDMI again with my HDTV. After forcing the card to display 720p60hz in the CCC I was able to mirror the display on my TV. The problem now is that the TV connected by HDMI is still not being recognized in CCC so there is no audio nor can I play with resolution or screen size for the TV (the display was too large for the screen so I could not see the task bar). I tried to detect the TV in windows as well as in CCC but it was never detected. Also in control panel - sound there is no option to force audio via HDMI because no connection to the HDMI is recognized.
