Hey all

I have a WD Passport Ultra 2 TB, just got it the other day in fact.

I'm using the included software right now, which is not all that great even for a noob like me.

I've looked at a few free ones but most have some things I want then it doesn't have all that I'm looking for. Keep in mind I'm a complete noob when it comes to backing up. I used to just backup data to a DVD whenever I think about it which is about once a year. Would like to correct this so I need a backup program good for beginners. I don't need all the bells and whistles.

I'm looking for something cheap, prefer nothing over 20 bucks give or take.

It must be able to do file and folders, backup windows system, I want to be able to do a full backup of my entire system then only backup what changes on a weekly basis. Scheduling would be nice, but not a big deal breaker. Also encryption is not required or needed at this point. It also would be a BIG plus if the software can work with google drive, Dropbox, and Skydrive. But this also would be not a deal breaker either.

Opinions???

TIA

Brad

I have used windows backup and restore but I always seems to have problem with it, a great alternative is to use a third party software called Acronis True Image, never had a problem with it. Can find more about it from my blog http://www.allpcstuff.com/acronis-true-image-2014-software-review/

Hope this helps

Hello... yes... Windows versions come with a schedule'd backup program... try that first, and you can learn more about the procedure and your needs in a possible future purchase... WD also have free Backup programs too, if you have their products, check their website for more information on them.
