I have a few ip cameras and I want them to be on a separate network (eg. 10.1.25.1) so it doesn't congest the main network (eg. 10.1.11.1).

They would be on separate modems however I want to share the internet from the main modem (10.1.11.1) to the secondary modem without it sharing the network, if you know what I mean.

thanks in advance

Unless you have a business class router or one of the Router/switch units from your service provider, this will be difficult. Most SoHo routers are not setup to handle multiple networks.

Both Comcast and ATT offer gateway routers with 4 ports out. You can take one of those (single internet connection) and put a seperate router off one port with a different network on it.

If you have 2 different Internet providers you would need two routers and they would stay seperate or invest in a Juniper SRX-100 and learn to program a "real" router...

I have a customer with the SRX, primary internet is via Comcast, backup/secondary comes off a T-1. The secondary is handling my VPN and is fallback if Comcast goes down. The SRX has enough ports and flexibility to allow the type of routing you are looking for.

thanks for the prompt reply!

okay, so I have a DrayTek VIGOR2820 modem which is then connected to WatchGuard firewall and then connected to a switch. So is it still possible?

many thanks

...can you administratively create different networks and assign ports to different WAN ports? if yes then... yes.

this is what I use... The support license gets you 24/7 help and they can have AV and webfiltering on all ports.
