following a defragging I have this problem. When I turn computer on the resolution is ok . When I go to email the resolution gets too large for the screen, sometimes goes back to normal

Solution
there is always a video card... sometimes it is "onboard" or part of the motherboard but always there...

To see what your video is
1. from start - run/search type devmgmt.msc press Enter...

2. find Display Adapters, open it (click the triangle), it should, at least, say VGA video, more liely Intel, Nvidia, or AMD something.
3. Right click on the listed display adapter and select "Uninstall"... Do NOT check the delete drivers.
4. Restart.

The system will then re"find" the Display Adapter (video card) and attempt to load it from the currently installed drivers. It will also set the display resolution to the max that the monitor can handle (in Win7/8)

I use Outlook. When the screen becomes large even the desktop is that way. Sometimes it goes back to normal and sometimes I need to go into display and adjust the resolution setting.

download a new set of video drivers..

do a disk check, drive prperties, tools tab, Error-checking, Check Now, check both boxes, click Start, reboot and wait. Do Defrag again, reboot, uninstall video card and drivers from Device Manager, reboot, install new drivers from download...

...? did it work? I know it is a long process, just trying to cover bases...

I got as far as the Device Driver and there is no video card (or video drivers) to uninstall.

I found the Gigabyte on there twice -once as the secondary. I uninstalled the secondary first and it did not solve the problem. Went back and uninstalled the primary and so far (several restarts and changing programs) it seems to have done the trick.

I REALLY appreciate your clear directions and patience.

Well, today I'm back to large screen resolution so I'm not sure where to go from here. I have the Gigabyte installation disk and wonder about reinstalling from that.
