Hello, my old box finally decided to start falling apart on my after 4 years. I've already replaced the hard drive but now it's time for the GPU. I was wondering if you fine folk could throw some recommendations my way for inexpensive (around 200-300$ or less maybe) graphic solutions that would replace my old 470 and give me a nice performance boost as well.

I was considering picking up a Geforce GTX 580 but I found they're no longer available through retailers. I haven't kept up to date on hardware since I built this thing the first time so any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'd like to stick to Nvidia if possible, brand loyalty and all. My specs are below. Thank you very much in advance!

Graphics:
GeForce GTX 470 (dead)

Storage:
Seagate Barracuda 1TB drive

Processing:
AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black
ASUS M4A78T-E

Memory:
G.SKILL 6GB

Power Supply:
OCZ Fatal1ty 750W

Solution
To see signifant performance improvement you could go with gtx 770 (but this i think surpasses the 300 dollars budget)
or to a R9 280X from Radeon which is close to your budget and is nearly good as 770 gtx.
However, I would be a bit worried about your cpu bottlenecking these cards.

Yes that was a concern of mine as well. I'm going to be replacing my CPU sooner or later though. Thanks for the reply.
