I would like to do a clean install using a boot-able .iso usb for Win7x64HmPrem to a SSD dedicated to OS only my games and programs are currently on separate HDD's. I have an older (9/2013) System Image on a external hdd and have since added other games and programs and want to know if I can copy my complete registry file and reinstall/reload it into my clean install so I don't have to reinstall the games and programs again to get the correct registry settings.
Also after spending some time reading up on slip streaming windows updates onto a bootable usb was wondering if there is a way to include 3.0 usb drivers.

yeah kinda thought that myself about the 2.0 my usb. 3.0 is not in the drivers, last time I did this I had to go 'fetch' it and install it in order for 3.0 to work. I inadvertently checked Best Answer and can't 'un-click' it btw. I'll just re-post.

Hello... My experience is to load everything for that fresh speed and data organization, But i have experimented over the years in such matters... Some programs just need the directory copied such as Starcraft, other programs need registry infomation, and in the END, some programs needed re-loading and others would work from the HD/backup... it's a good procedure you have decided to test, give it a try and see what the results are... in learning and testing the best proceedure for your needs, the only thing lost is your time.

I do agree with the fresh start but those reg files are a pita and I have several hundred gigs of stuff that wasn't there when I did the sys image thus the reg transfer. I was hoping there'd be a utility of sorts to handle this sort of thing and saw a couple googlin' around that also included windows updates. Before I used Rufus to set up the .iso on the usb but even though it went smooth there were all those updates to be done plus the registry files hangin' me up on gaming and what not. What I've seen so far on line is you can do one registry at a time. There's a RT Lite 2.6.0 beta that you have to mount the iso then extract it to a folder and then run the utility than shows your existing reg files and drivers that you can add to the boot usb that supposedly makes it easier to do a clean install with out having to go through the win update and reg files hassle.

Here's a link to what I was leaning towards: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/145343-slipstream-windows-7-sp1-into-installation-dvd-iso-file.html. But this method when using a usb is to mount the .iso on Daemon, Gizmo, or Magic ISO or equivalent, then extract the .iso to another folder then add the other (updates-drivers-reg zipped files) to the windows iso so they all download together. Rufus creates a usb that sets it up for UEFI and GPT which as said before goes smoothly but it has no ability to include updates, drivers and reg files.

Did make a bootable flash usb haven't used it as yet but the set up went good seeings how I'd never done this one before and it includes everything BUT the registry files (it does include drivers-updates-etc-etc). I am wondering if a new system image would cover my registry files? Any ideas?

The RT Lite 2.6.0 Beta works very well indeed. It seems to be geared to making sure the Win7 has SP1 and slips it in. There is a way to slip SP2 on SeveForums but haven't as yet tried that one. The RT thing is pretty cool. What I did was use Rufus to convert the .iso then attached that conversion to RT Lite. But meanwhile back at the ranch, still groping for reg files.

No, you cannot do this. The registry is unique to each installation.

BTW how do I " Unsolve" this post to keep getting ideas?
There, I've taken care of it for you....
