Hmmm just gonna put this as best I can,

So I have purchased an Obsidian 900D Its going to have 12 - 3pin case fans once I am finished with it. My mother board is https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P8Z68V_PRO/#specifications

So being a completely newbie when it comes to this many fans / fan controllers, I was wondering whether I should get 2 fan controllers (6 Channel) or just buy one and plug the rest into the motherboard. Obviously this would mean any fan plugged into a 4 pin socket on my board would be running at max RPM constantly (I think?).

Are there any other ways around this that you guys could suggest?
Also could 2 fan controllers cause issues power wise, using a Corsair 860W modular PSU, i7 2600k, 2 x GTX670.

Sorry if I do not make too much sense!

If you get a fan controller, you can usually hook up 2 - 3 fans per channel, as long as you do not exceed the wattage or amps on the channel. I run 2 Ultra Kaze's on 1 channel off a no name brand fan controller, Here is how much watts/amps it uses on that only channel: 0.62amps * 12v = 7.32watts (7.32 + 7.32 = 14.64watts)(1.24amps) So I could run 3 of these fan off just 1 of my channels on mine. My is a 20watt channel with 2amps max per channel.

Some Mobo's will allow you to control the fan speeds on a 3 pin header, Mine does, but only on a few of them tho, some of them are PWM fan heads, so they are maxed out all the time.
