can the USB ports on my monitor reduce input lag?

hi, so sooner or later, im gonna switch from my 3+ year old 1080p 21" display to an asus PA279Q 27" 1440p monitor, unless something amazing happens within the next 3-6 months. what i noticed recently, though, was that it has a whole lot of USB 3.0 ports on the back. and apparently those are meant partly for mouse/keyboard. so i was wondering if using those instead of the ones in the back of my pc would reduce input lag? because, that would be neat. because that´s about the only reason i´d want extra usb ports, since i´ve got 6+ of them on my mobo, and 2 in the front already. and my pc stands on my desk, so tidiness is not really the issue.

also, if i were to connect my external hard drive to the usb ports on the monitor, will transfer speeds decrease?

thanks
