Hello guys..
when I switch on the PC it’s BIOS screen says
“The firmware has detected that a CMOS battery failure occured. press the enter to continue”
after pressing enter it’s says
“The firmware has detected that a CMOS checksum error occourd.press the enter to continue”
after pressing enter again and it’s says
“The firmware has detected that the system date/ time has not been set.press the enter to continue”
after log on by pressing enter then my date is set as 01/01/2007 and time set as 12.00AM
there for every time after log on I have to set the correct date and time.
I changed BIOS as default setting and replaced a new CMOS battery one year ago,, but the problem still exists .. Please help,, and what is the right way to install a cmos battery (what changes should be made in the bios)? thanks in advance

If you changed the CMOS battery one year ago either you put the battery in backwards, which you have a 50/50 chance of getting it right without looking, or the battery you used is dead.

When you start up the computer after getting past this error does the computer work right?
