Hi All,

I thought I'd ask here :)
So last night I took off my heatsink and fan off my GT8800 to clean it.
After booting back up, no issues with POST, but every 15min or so the screen goes black and then comes back online with a popup down the bottom saying that the display driver crashed but has been recovered.

According to event log:
Log Name: System
Source: Display
Date: 17/12/2013 7:36:29 AM
Event ID: 4101
Task Category: None
Level: Warning
Keywords: Classic
User: N/A
Computer: JeremyPC
Description:
Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered.

I'm running windows 8.1 and version 331.82 of Nvidia drivers. According to Speedfan my GPU temp is about 40degrees C.

Any thoughts, appreciate it.

Thanks

It is most likely a hardware issue. You should loosen the screws on your heatsink a bit and see if that helps.
