BSOD on Windows 8.1 idling and gaming

I've been having random BSOD on windows 7 & Windows 8.1 (currently running 8.1) and had 2 BSOD within a few days of each other. One was whilst the computer was idle with nothing open whilst I was asleep and the other one whilst I was gaming.
Computer specs are:
Cooler - CORS CW-9060014-WW Hydro H110
CPU - Intel Core i7 4770K
Motherboard - MSI Z87-G45-GAMING MOBO
GPU - 3GB GByte GTX780 OC PCI-E
Power Supply - Corsair RM650 650W Gold PSU
RAM - 2 X 8gb Corsair DDR3 2133MHZ

I guess my question is have you run memtest on both sticks (2 or 3 passes) individually while XMP was set on them? Most likely it would be caused by a flakey memory stick but it could be a few other things as well.

With 8.1 would guess driver issues - would suggest making sure you have the latest BIOS and the mobo drivers for Win 8.1

I can't get MemTest to boot on windows 8.1 seems as though alot of people are having trouble, boots straight into windows even if I select the USB or CD

Can try unplugging the OS drive to run Memtest

Set the HDD so it doesn't boot (goes into shell) tried to boot from usb and cd neither of them booted.

Updated Flash and ME to latest version for my MOBO 2 hours later BSOD whilst IDLE with nothing open. Still not able to check my memory as I can't boot it. http://www.mediafire.com/download/v9sb9wokb8xqag9/121713-7906-01.dmp

You don't need a harddrive in order to run memtest, just a computer that is capable of getting past POST>

I know that but it booted straight into shell without the hdd and booted into windows with, Memtest wouldn't boot. And I have no other computer capable of handling 2133 mhz of Memory but I got it working after hours of research and Ran MemTest for 13 hours 6 Pass's 39 errors with both sticks as I was going to bed, I should take 1 out and run it again for 3 pass's? That will take about 5-6 hours per stick.

Took stick 2 out, 12 errors within a few minutes, replaced stick 1 with stick 2 in first slot no errors straight away but still running, What to do?

I would assume stick 2 is your issue then no errors should occur in properly functioning memory.

The memory is only 2 months old from Corsair, should I RMA the kit but I got 1 piece working and I don't want to get 2 pieces back that are worse than my current one.

I would RMA the kit. If you're getting BSOD and know you have errors it isn't going to get better, at best it stays the same, might get worse if it starts happening during driver installs or program installs it will ruin programs. Find a friend with too much memory, borrow some while your kit is being RMAed and enjoy the new kit.

Sent a Rma out to corsair and already have old ram 8gb of 1333 MHz from my previous build, hopefully get a replacement before Christmas! Thank a lot !

Oh heck yeah if I had 8gb laying around I would have sent them off in a heartbeat. Not going to kill your computer, and hell if you wanted you could try and OC them to see what you can get out of them
