Hey there,
I'm interested in assembling a computer for my dad since his current PC is really struggling.
Can anyone help me out with a build on a $500-600 budget?
Since he doesn't game, he would be fine with modern integrated graphics. When the time comes that I upgrade my personal machine, I'll toss him a HD 6850.
I also want to set him up with a SSD. Nothing greater than 120gb or so, just for the necessities.
I'm thinking an i5 processor will stand the test of time for his usage levels.
What do you guys suggest I do?
Notes:
-No discrete GPU necessary
-No purchase of an OS necessary (I have copies of both Windows 7 and 8)
-SSD highly desired
-I might grab him a HDD if I cant throw his old one into the new build, but I'll do that later.
