Hi,
I am fairly new to the massive and confusing realm of computer building/upgrading but I realize that I need to give my PC a boost with a new CPU and Motherboard. I have a FOXCONN 2AB1 motherboard and a AMD Athlon II X2 220 CPU. I wanted to know if this motherboard (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131882) and this CPU (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819113328) will work together and be able to replace my current motherboard and cpu, and if not, what parts I should get with in a reasonable budget. I'm also wondering if I'll need a bigger power supply to accommodate this upgrade, I currently have a 400watt power supply. I'm just a little lost and need a little help. Thanks in advance for replying.

THese parts should work together considering that they are both FM2 sockets soo... I am mostly an intel guy though, but it looks like it. Is there a reason you won't switch to Intel though?

I'd like to, as I'm trying to get my rig up to Arma 3 requirement, I just have no idea where to start. What would you recommend? I have a $200-300 budget. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Your old motherboard is micro-ATX size (9.6 x 9.6 inches). The new one is ATX size so it is longer (12.0" x 9.6"). The new motherboard is compatible with A-Series APUs that have Graphics built into the processor. The Athlon X4 750K CPU is compatible with the motherboard however it is not an A-Series APU and has no Graphics so you would need a Graphics Card in the PCI Express x16 slot. You will also need DDR3 Memory (DDR3 - 1866MHz is compatible).

Give me a price range (budget) and exactly what you want to do (main focus (OCing, gaming, editing)). Then I can help you pick out parts. :)

Alright, I have about a $200-300 budget and I want to focus on gaming. I'm not looking for uber performance, just a constant 40+ frames, if that's possible. I have a EVGA Geforce GT610 GPU if you are wondering. I'm eventually going to upgrade it but I need a new CPU bad. Thank you for taking the time to help me.

I think this is the cheapest I can get you (only one under $300) that is worth anything for gaming is this. Ive been searching different sites and different products for a while and think that these 2 on newegg would work.

It is an LGA 1150 Z87 motherboard by gigabyte: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128677

And The 4670k i5 Processor: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116899

One newegg it comes out to a little less than $300

:)
