I have an HP Envy 15-j059nr Quad Edition Notebook.
Processor: 4th gen Intel i7-4900
It came with some standard Intel graphics card, which I upgraded to an Nvidia GeForce GT 740M.

I am running demanding games like CoD and other first person shooters, and all of the games lag quite terribly, because I think the computer is running them on the stock Intel card that it came with, and not the Nvidia one. I've downloaded the Nvidia Inspector and have been playing around on the Intel and Nvidia control panels but have had no luck, and have tried many other options within specific programs and games. Is there anyway to select the Nvidia card over the Intel one?

Usually when you install a discrete video card it overrides the integrated video.
