Sapphire 7870 problem

I just got my Sapphire 7870 today. I tried installing it to my PC by removing my old videocard then inserting the new video card. I connected the HDMI ports from the monitor to the new videocard. The problem is my PC wont detect my video card. I already tried installing the drivers needed online. And my desktop wont fit my monitor(its too big!)

Did you also plug in the two auxiliary power connectors to it?

I'm sorry I am confused... I'm talking about the two 6 pin power connectors. Does your device manger display any information about it?

Yes I connected the 2 6 pin power connectors.. and my device manager doesnt display my video card. I tried connecting the HDMI port to the motherboard instead and the desktop looks fine its not overlapping the monitor
