Hi guys
At the moment I'm searching for the best SSD's for my gaming computer.
So far I have bought 3 SSD's and I have some questions regarding results on some tests I have done.
Before I bought anything I did some research and read some reviews. After what I could read I identified some strong candidates and bought them for testing. In the reviews I did not find much difference between 250GB and 500GB drives, but when I have being doing tests I found some differences I don't like and really don't understand. I'm just a noob when it comes to testing SSD's so I will only present some findings I have done and hopefully you guys can help me understand this results.
Here is the disks I have been testing so far:
SanDisk Extreme II SSD 240GB
SanDisk Extreme II SSD 480GB
Seagate 600 SSD 480GB
Im waiting for Samsung 840 Pro Series 512GB and will add test results for that one later.
Here is my results so far:
There seem to be a trend that both the 480GBs is performing worse than the 240GB, especially at writing smaller file sizes but also read.
If I sum up all the results it get like this:
In my tests the 240GB SSD beat both the 480 SSD's on read and write, and the stats for both Sandisk is more or less identical and in other reviews both score similar in most tests. Why is there so much difference in some of my tests? can it be my motherboard?
Is this enough to conclude that I should keep the 240GB and send the others back?
