Hey everyone, here's my situation. I have a 128 gb ssd and a 1 tb hdd and i am going to be returning the ssd and putting windows 8 on the hdd. How do I re-format and delete everything off the hdd so that i can start fresh after i get rid of the ssd? and how can i re format the ssd before i return it? thanks

Solution
The Windows install will give you the option to blow away the entire HDD during the install.
For the SSD, Secure Erase with Parted Magic.

But why get rid of the SSD?

Not familiar with the Windows 8 installation procedure, but if it's like Windows 7, just insert the OS disk into your DVD drive and boot from it to start the installation. At the point where it asks where you want to install, you should see an "Advanced" option. Clicking this should give you the option to format any drive found in your system. Format both drives, but install Windows 8 onto the HDD.

so put my windows 8 install disk in, reboot and i can format both drives and install windows to the hdd?
I'm getting rid of the ssd because its a headache to manage what gets saved where and i want the simplicity of not having to worry about that
