Upgrade CPU or go for new Mobo/CPU combo?

Hello,
First off let me say I appreciate any constructive suggestions.

My current rig is the following:
Gigabyte P67A-UD4-B3
INTEL I5-2500K Sandy Bridge LGA 1155
EVGA VIDEO GFORCE GTX 560Ti running dual monitors 1680x1050 resolution
16GB G Skill PC3-12800I(800MHZ) DDR III SDRAM (Pt# F3-17000CL9-4GBXM)
Running Win 7 64 bit

I built this system @5 years ago and have been happy with it for the most part, I really haven’t upgraded much except a few new/ higher capacity hard drives and doubling up on the RAM to 16GB. I use the PC for day to day email/web surfing and MS office apps. I do use it for some occasional video editing of home video stuffs, online gaming and flying simulators like MS Flight Sim and flying games on Steam.

I am currently using the EasyTune 6 utility from Gigabyte to run the CPU at 4.47 MHz and 104MHz BCLK. I have tried a few different times to over clock the GPU using MSI afterburner and have had some success, but really haven’t fooled around with it so much.

I’m thinking of trying to breathe some new life into this config and was thinking about upgrading the CPU to the i7-3770k for @ $ 325.00 (it is the fastest CPU that the mobo can take). Another thought was to upgrade the mobo/CPU combo while trying to salvage the memory. Ultimately would like to see better graphics, less jitters in some games. Any suggestions which is the better option for the rough cost of $350.00??

Thanks

Thanks Firo40. Might you have suggestions? Something in the $200.00 - 275.00 range? :)

A gtx 760 or a r9 280x if you can either would be a decent upgrade

Thanks for the advice. Any particular manufacturer? ASUS, MSI?? Is there a variant of the cards that can be overclocked?
