I recently built my first computer. Unfortunately I am returning the Motherboard due to a bent socket pin. I am just getting a replacement, of the same type. It is a Gigabyte Z87 UD5H LGA 1150. The computer is set up now, and working fine (even with the bent pin). The new motherboard will be in on the 18th. My question is, Will I need to reapply the thermal paste??? It will have only have been 4 days since the original install.

Thanks for taking your time to help me out. It's appreciated :)

Yes. Any time you remove the heatsink and expose the thermal paste, you must wipe it off and reapply it. If you don't, you'll almost certainly end up with hundreds of microscopic air bubbles trapped between the heatsink and CPU, which will cause temps to rise.
