Solution
There's a lot of things that could cause this including bad DDR3 memory (or bad setup of Timings/Frequency in the BIOS).

The first step in troubleshooting is to run MEMTEST for at least one full pass: www.memtest.org

Other causes could be other hardware issues or software corruption, possibly even driver problems.

Is it SINGLE PLAYER or MULTI that is the issue, or BOTH?

Update:
I found THIS: http://www.flyaga.info/stackhash-error-dep-configuration-appcrash/

Try following that and browse to the "halo2.exe" file which may be somewhere under "Program Files" or "Program Files(x86)."

I have it running fine on Windows 8 64-bit but I did a custom install path.

and just curious wha exactly is memtest i ask this because i see its an iso file and i was expecting it to be an exe like i said before i have bad internet so if its a large file it will just be a waste of time and also dont know if this matters or not but i figured i should mention it as you mentioned the timings in my bios

Specs:
Mobo:msi 990fxa GD-80
cpu: FX-6300
gpu:HD 5450(peice of shit i know but im upgrading to an r9 280x soon)
ram:8gb ddr3 dual channeled 1600
ssd:samsung 840 evo

Try uninstalling "Games for Windows Live" & then reinstall a fresh copy of this software.

I've also heard of issues with GFWL. Someone even said something about the latest version having issues and using an older version but that surprises me. So sure, go ahead and uninstall and reinstall that.

Memtest and ISO:
Not sure if you got this working by your comment but you can NOT run in a virtual machine and test all your memory.

It works like THIS:
1. Download the MEMTEST ISO
2. Use IMGBURN to install to CD or DVD (or use the USB installer and boot to a USB thumb drive)
3. Boot to the DISC or USB drive (may need to change BOOT ORDER so the DVD or USB device comes first in the BIOS boot order)

Memtest would then automatically start running so run for one complete pass to test all memory.

i run that game on vista and it works fine you mat try to uninstall it and reinstall it manualy [dont use the auto pop up] x that out go to computer then to the drive with halo disk r click then explore r click on the startupexe icon to bring up the instailer under run as admin. click costom game install and then see that its installing in the correct folder[C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Halo 2\] ... i use 64 bit vista. then choose witch ever install mode you want .... hope it works out. some issue may be with the windows live but you can do the just play mode also.
