Within a few months I plan on making a gaming PC. I was just wondering what the best way was to set up the dual monitor configuration. I was told it is best to run off the ports on the GPU but mine only offers 1 HDMI and 1 VGA. Would it not be better to run from the hdmi on the GPU and another HDMI on the MOBA I/O?

Nice PC, however I recommend getting one monitor for now so you can get a G-Sync capable monitor next year.

I also recommend Windows 8 64-bit OEM, not Windows 7.
W8 is superior in many ways, and we're going to get support for it that W7 won't (possibly DX11.2). I've been using W8 for a year and my interface woes were solved by using Start8 ($5). So I have almost the SAME interface now but the improvements in W8 that are under the hood mostly. Security is better on UEFI motherboards for one thing to help prevent boot-time malware (such as key-logging software).

Most/all older computers use EITHER the dedicated graphics or the onboard graphics but not BOTH. Some modern setups can but then you'd be using the dedicated graphics card anyway.

Setup of monitors:
Are you using one for gaming, and one extended? You should never use TWO at the same time for gaming because then there's a big gap right in the middle. Three are better, but then you need a very powerful setup. I personally prefer a single, large 27" 2560x1440 monitor. Sure they're expensive but so are three monitors if you add them up.

So TWO monitors again should only be for GAMING on one and the second for other things. When not gaming you may wish to have two different programs open, one on each monitor.

(I'm also slightly confused. Were you buying the monitors BEFORE getting your new PC? The GTX780 would easily support three monitors.)

G-SYNC: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/g-sync-v-sync-monit...

G-Sync is really quite incredible. If you aren't amazed, then you don't understand it yet.

I asked him about that. No response yet. I assumed he meant his CURRENT PC instead but it is a little confusing..
