So, I just finished building my first PC and when I boot it up into the BIOS, all I see is my Optical Drive, and SSD. I do not see my Harddrive. I tried unplugging my SSD and plugging in the harddrive which then finally worked. I have a total of 8 SATA ports and it seems as if only two of them (which are the optical drive and SSD) are working. Any advice to help me solve this issue? I am using the ASUS Z87-Plus MOBO.

Solution
your MOBO gas 2 SerialATA chip.....one "Intel Z87(yellow colour)" and another"ASMedia (dark brown)"

ASMedia Serial ATA controls 2 SATAs "SATA6G-E1 & SATA6G-E2"
connect your optical drivers in this port

Intel Z87 Serial ATA controls 6 SATAs "SATA6G _1 to 6"
connect both your SSD and HDD in this port......

Aweso.e, thank you! I will try this in the morning. Its weird because when I go into advanced settings and down into SATA Configuration it shows me exactly where each drive is located. So it definately recognizes the HDD but it just doesn't show it in the bios. But yea I will reconfigure the SATA cables and see if that works.
