Bios won't start

I am having trouble booting to bios on my new rig. When I turn it on it says "reboot and select proper boot divide or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key" Then when I press a key it just re displays that same message.

Please note I created a USB boot drive using a mac but I've put windows 8 on the drive. Maybe I created the partition wrong. If you know anything about booting windows 8 out of a thumb drive or why this message is being show please reply.
