Hello,

I'm building my first gaming PC and was hoping to get some input on my build. I'm very open to suggestions and would appreciate any input.

Here's my build so far:
CPU: AMD FX-8320 Vishera 3.5 GHz
GPU: ?????
Mobo: Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3 AMD AM3+
RAM: G SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16 GB (2x8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 1866 MHz
SSD: SanDisk 128GB SATA III 2.5” Internal SSD
HDD: Western Digital WD10EZEX 1 TB 7200 RPM 64 MB Cache 3.5” Internal HDD
PSU: ?????
Case: NZXT Phantom 410 Gunmetal Edition
Optical Drive: ASUS 24X DVD Burner

My budget for the build is $1000. The running total cost of the parts I've picked out so far is $687.23, which leaves $312.77 for a graphics card and power supply, but I'm willing to spend a little more than that if need be.

In terms of gaming I was hoping to play games like Battlefield 4, Crysis 3, and other graphics intensive games on high settings. I was also hoping for this build to last at least two years before I have to upgrade.

I'm really unsure what graphics card to get. I was interested in getting an AMD card, maybe the new R9 280X or the HD 7950. Only problem is it seems that most of AMD's higher-end cards are out of stock and are only available at almost double the list-price. I'm also not sure how much power I'd need for this build.

Again, any input at all would be very much welcome. Thanks!

XFX Core Pro 650W can be had for $59.99 after rebate. or XFX Core Pro 550W for $54.99 without any rebates. That takes care of the psu. And leaves you with approximately $250, which you should then spend on a GTX760, that will provide you with the best gaming experience at that price range.
You should be able to run BF4 at about 40 min to 50 avg fps at 1920x1080 on ultra.

Btw switch your motherboard to the Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3, that will actually let you properly overclock your CPU. Shouldn't be a huge investment. Here is a link to tests on boards for overclocking, generally the good ones start at the 100-120 range.

I would drop the SSD from your build and just get a gtx 770 + PSU, SSD's will get cheaper so you can always get one later rather then drop more money for a 2nd graphics card when you figure the 760 isn't enough.

Thank you so much! Is there a specific iteration of the GTX 760 card you would recommend?
