Hello everybody,

I want to build a wireless Network between my house and my friend's house .Distance is around 40 metres , but there is one more house in between. I can't run cable as my neighbour won't allow . So i am thinking to build a wireless Network by installing Repeater at my house. Also one more problem is that on scanning for wifi signals with my laptop i am unable to find a single bar in my compound.Kindly let me know if it feasible. If feasible then which brand repeater should i use.

Please Help!!!

Thanks
Hiten

Thanks for your reply. Is there any other option? I mean can I achieved the same with powerful repeater/access point instead of rooftop antenna?

Repeaters will make no difference if you place them inside and outside they are best placed 1/2 way which I suspect is not a option.

You are close enough that it might just work. It is going to depend on what the houses are made of. Generally the problem is the signals from all your neighbors are so strong they get into your house when you don't want them to. You could place the router near a window.

If that does not work you need to put a outdoor AP on one house and if that still doesn't work then you will need to put outdoor bridge units on both houses.
