Hi,
I'm building a computer, and i put everything together, but I get no signal on the monitor.

Everything is new except for ram and case and DVD drive.

I have a asus m5a99x Evo r2.0 mobo

Amd fx8320 CPU + stock cooler

750w 80+gold psu

Msi twin frzr 7850 hd 2gb Gpu

128gb ssd

Ram from my old computer, corsair vengeance 8gb. Not supported by the mobo. I think the ram might be the problem.

And an old usable DVD drive.

I put everything together and when I turn the pc on, everything has power, including the gpu. However the monitor picks up no signal. I tried both VGA and hdmi. I don't have a mother speaker. Right now i think it's the ram that is causing this, but I'm not sure if I need to properly install the gpu onto the mobo for it to work.
By this I mean required to install some drivers for the gpu.

So I'm asking if you guys think the gpu is the problem or the ram.

Thank you.

Solution
Most likely the gpu. Noob question: did you connect to the monitor via the gpu? If so, try the dvi connection. It may be your monitor or gpu. (I dont trust msi...)

Sigh.. I found the problem.. I took apart everything.. and found out that the cpu's pins were bent. This is what happens when you try to give your little brother some experience.. unsupervised.

Thanks for the quick reply though.
