I have an ASUS Sabertooth 990FX r2.0 motherboard, and will be installing a CoolerMaster 212 EVO cooler. The EVO comes with a backplate that is designed for mounting on the back side of the motherboard , presumably to reinforce against the weight of the cooler. Thing is, the Sabertooth already has a substantial backplate that dwarfs the one packed with the EVO. I'm not inclined to remove the Sabertooth backplate and install the EVO backplate unless someone can offer a compelling reason to do so.
