I have a Cooler Master Cosmos 1000 that I bought back in 2008. It's been an awesome case and I've rebuilt 3 times since I bought it, and have no intensions of changing cases any time soon. I am however at the point I need to upgrade the stock fans. I'll explain the current design then ask for your advice. The case has (4) 120 mm fans, all of which are 44 cfm fans. (1) rear exhaust, (2) top exhaust, and (1) bottom intake. I also have a hyper 212 sitting on the cpu, which is blowing directly at the rear exhaust case fan. Since I just replaced my vid card with a windforce gtx 770, the temperature of the exhausted air has increased dramatically. It's heats my whole living room, saving me on my gas bill, lol. This is obviously not good so I'm going to upgrade the fans to 80+ cfm fans.

My question is, should I blank off the two top fan openings and just replace the rear exhaust and the bottom intake. I'm just wondering if the top fans would actually interfere with the air flow and cause extra static friction, or would it be better to replace those fans as well and keep all four turning.
