Installing to "program files" folder vs "programs files (x86)" is not something you can just change. "Program files" is 64-bit programs and games. "Program files (x86)" is for 32-bit programs and games. This is governed by the program and windows. You cannot change the program or game from 32-bit to 64-bit by switching the directory.
Did you really really pull this one off? i CANT believe my eyes hahaha.
To stay on topic: try what i said and check if games are installed in Program Files directory as the Program Files (x86) emulated ofcourse 32 bit system which in that case will not be able to...
Possibly the 780 may be bottle necked by something ? Since you put the new card in an older computer the CPU or Ram may not be up to the data transfer of the new card and could be holding it back. List what you have for components.

Precisely what he said, we need full system specs.
Do you also install games in the folder Program Files and NOT Program Files (x86)??
