When my third (2tb seagate) internal hard drive is plugged in, my computer displays bootmgr is missing. When I disconnect it, the error is gone and the system loads fine on my OCZ Vertex 4 ssd. Everything was working fine before I did a BIOS update through MSI Live Update. now everytime I want to boot into windows I have to unplug my 2TB Seagate so that my windows on my OCZ Vertex 4 SSD boots. How can I fix this?

Bios boot order
1- OCZ vertex 4 (windows 7 on this)
2-cd dvd
3-500gb WD
4-2tb seagate

Check boot priority in your BIOS. It sounds like it's picking the 2TB above everything else for some odd reason. Make sure the drive with the OS is #1.

Hello... it is a balancing act between your SATA inputs and the BIO's boot order settings... make you and save your BIO's after you change anything, try cables inputs it is fast and easy.

Yes the priority is set correctly with the SSD as 1st, but for some reason it still tries to boot from the 2tb so I have to disconenct the 2tb everytime I want to boot..

What size is your PSU? Is your boot drive getting power when you plug in the 2TB? It sounds like the drive is not getting power.

Yeah I hit F10 and save everytime, and when I re-enter bios it has the ssd set to #1

For your boot priority have #1 as the ssd and disable all the others. Does that work?

Thanks for help guys but I figured it out, the 2tb was plugged into a asmedia sataport that there were no drivers for so I just moved it up to a z77 chip powered port. all works now thanks!
