Which External 1 TB hard disk to buy ?

I require a reliable 1 tb hard disk for storing my songs , pictures and videos. Most of the videos as primary storage . Which hard disk should i buy ?
m thinking of WD My passport 1 tb but please help me if m wrong .

If your files are really important, then backup to more than 1 drive.
For external HDD, there are a few options
1. Pre-made like the WD Passport
2. DIY, buy a internal HDD and then a external enclosure, install HDD into external enclosure and it becomes external
3. How about a HDD dock?
