I just recently purchased an MSI Z87-G55 mobo, with an i7 4770k CPU. I installed the new mobo and CPU, however, none of my audio jacks are working. Windows doesn't even detect that my headphones are plugged into the front panel audio in. Here is a list of the troubleshooting that I've done thus far:
1. Installed most recent Realtek HD Audio Driver from MSI site.
2. Ensured that HD Audio is enabled in my BIOS.
3. Ensured that "Show Disabled Devices" and "Show Disconnected Devices" was checked in the Windows Playback device menu was checked.
4. Tried switching between front panel jacks, and rear panel jacks. NEITHER works at the moment.
5. Removed panel on tower, and ensured that the HDA cable was plugged in at the correct spot on the motherboard (JAUD1).
6. Uninstalled all Realtek HD audio drivers, as well as ALL NVIDIA drivers. Restarted, then reinstalled the Realtek HD audio drivers separately and still had the same issue. Windows does not even detect anything is plugged in.
I have no idea what else to do. Anyone have any ideas?? The link below are screenshots of my current settings through the Realtek HD Audio Manager.
Also, I currently have an NVIDIA GTX 670 for my GPU. I am updated to the latest drivers through NVIDIA for that. Not sure if that has anything to do with this either.

Remove ur front panel audio connections from ur motherboard and then try to plug the Headphone.Go to Control Panel....Sound and other devices...choose realtek as default audio device
I did that, and it still doesn't recognize my headphones. In the Realtek HD Audio Manager, Digital looks like it's the only available option, while Analog is greyed out. I don't know how to enable Analog.

Can you post a picture of your front panel connectors plugged into your motherboard (a close up) :-)Sure, here you go. Sorry if it's hard to see.

By the way, I have the HDA wire plugged in, as opposed to the AC'97 wire.

Looks like you need to plug into the front panel audio connector which is all the way to the left. In the bottom left corner, it looks like to me.Looks to me you might have the front panel audio plugged into the case speaker pins.
I'm not sure I follow...I currently have the HDA wire from my tower plugged into the JAUD1 connector on my mobo. The JAUD1 connector is all the way to the left, in the bottom left corner.

I did just purchase the motherboard, so I was thinking that it could be faulty...although I was really hoping that wasn't the case. I am going to try and do a clean installation with windows, and if that doesn't work, then I am just gonna RMA it. Thanks for the help, I'll let you guys know what happens.

I don't own a Windows 7 disc...I have Win 8.1, but I can try and figure out a way to install Win 7 if the same issue occurs with the reinstall of 8.1

You can download an ISO of windows 7 with SP1. You just won't have the microsoft activation code.
