Hi,
I was offered the chance to build my own PC for the first time and I took it.

But there is something I'm not sure about. Whether the CPU and mobo would be compatible with each other or not.
So far i've seen that the socket has to match up, the one im looking at is this MSI Z87-G45-GAMING ATX and this i5 4670K.

MSI Z87-G45-GAMING ATX: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00D12OBEU/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE

i5 4670K: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00CO8TBOW/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE

I think they would work as the sockets match up and the board is ready with the 4th gen CPU i've chosen.

Also, how much effect does the CPU and mobo have on the PSU? As GPUs give me PSU requirements but mobos and CPus don't? Would I have to choose PSU that exceeds the gpu requirements?
I'll be choosing a 750W Corsair CX750. This also meets the requirement of my chosen GPU.

Thanks in advance.

There are only one series of CPUs out right now that will fit LGA 1150, the Core Ix-4xxx series (also known as Haswell) and its Pentium variants, so as long as you are using a motherboard that has that socket, it will work.

As for the PSU requirements, you can't buy a standard desktop power supply that doesn't have enough power to run the motherboard and CPU, but a GPU can require a lot more power, which is why there are power supply recommendations for those GPUs. The CX750 you are wanting to use should work just fine.
