New SSD slow and has blue flash every minute

I just installed the 840 Pro SSD on my HP H8-1409. I cloned the HD to the SSD with the software provided. I then used the Samsung Magician to get it setup. The magician says things are setup correctly and the performance test says it's running near peak (AHCI mode on, SATA 3 connected, latest firmware).

However, every minute the screen flashes blue for a couple seconds but the programs don't crash.

Other notes:
The boot time is still as slow as it use to be (35-40 seconds).
The Catalyst Control Center stops working. I went to the AMD website and tried to update my drivers but I got this error when trying: "Application Install: MSI service failure!"
I tried turning on the RAPID mode and that failed.

My tech level is pretty low so hopefully it's something easy. Thanks!

I'm sorry, but the typeface on that screenshot is just too small for me to read.

Your problem does not lie with the SSD so running HDD Expert will not help. You have 3 options:
1) Shutdown some of the processes that are using so much memory,
2) Install additional RAM or
3) Increase the size of your page file. This last one may or may not help.

Swap the harddrive back in. Boot back up and see if the condition has resolved itself is what I would do. If it doesnt happen with the HDD then try re-cloning the SSD or just do a fresh install of Win8 to the SSD as this may be a uefi or gpt issue. Be sure you made your recovery & restore disks and have backed up any important files..

I unhooked the SSD (the original harddrive was always in; not sure if that's an issue). Things are working again. I'll try to reclone. If that doesn't work, do I just need to search my computer for the Win8 product key since it was preinstalled? The other downside is I have to reinstall all of my other programs, right? Thanks for the help!

I think I got it worked out after talking to a Samsung tech guy. He helped me erase my SSD by using diskpart.exe. Then he recommended this article:
http://www.techrepublic.com/blog/five-apps/five-free-disaster-recovery-tools/

I used macrium reflect to clone the drive to the SSD. Things seem to be working and running much faster.

He said the reason the given software didn't work to migrate the data is because Windows was preinstalled. Samsung needs to avoid anything that helps piracy.

Since I now have a copy of everything on both drives, is it better to delete somethings on one of the drives? I don't need the room since the HD is 1 TB and the SDD is 512 GB. I have less than 150 GB of data total right now.

I'm back with more problems. The SSD seems to be working well (boots quickly, programs run fast, samsung magician says it's running good) but I get an error from Microsoft Windows saying "close programs to prevent information loss. Your computer is low on memory. Save your files and close these programs: PokerTracker." PokerTracker is for my online poker playing and it eventually crashed on me. My logitech wireless mouse was also not working well. When I look in the task manager I see my memory is 7.6/9.9 GB even when I'm not running all of my extra programs. Ideas? Thanks again!

Windows is telling you that you are running out of RAM, not SSD space.

Press Ctl+Alt+Del and start Windows Task Manager. Open the "Processes" tab and click on the "Memory" column once or twice to get you highest memory processes up to the top. Take a screenshot and please post.

Here's the picture while I'm working:

Should I also run the HDD Expert? Note that poker tracker does use alot of memory and is the reason I got an SSD. I'm just not sure if it's using more than it should. Thanks!

Sorry, here's a larger image:

1. I'm afraid to shutdown something important. It seems like there are a ton of things running.

3. How do I increase the size of my pagefile? Thanks!

Don't be afraid to shut down memory hogs. The worst that can happen is that they will just respawn the next time you start Windows.

Do you have a webcam or a dedicated sound card?

Right click on Windows Audio Device Graph Isolation and select "End Process" You have 2 instances of Poker Tracker running. Do the same for one of those. You have 7 or 8 instances of Google Chrome running. Do the same for all but one.

Which version of Windows are you running?

It is Win8. I uninstalled and reinstalled pokertracker and it is better but still gets up to 75% memory used. Not sure if that's normal. The only problem I have now is that my mouse still gets jumpy. I unistalled the Logitech software and I'm using Windows to control it and it seems better (I found this trick from a random google search). Is it just that I'm using too much RAM? Thanks as always!

75% "should" work OK, but that does not give you much extra room for additional programs, if needed.

Are you still getting the warnings that you are running out of memory?

No warnings. I just notice the mouse issue. I wonder if that's when I'm getting a little too high in RAM usage. It's only at 35% now. It gets to 75% when I start playing poker with my software going.

Found out some good info today. The "windows audio device graph isolation" at the top of my TM is for the audio and has caused a memory leak for many people on the web. If I kill it, it at least starts over so I have more RAM. I just need to figure out how to get it to not keep using more and more memory.

That is why I asked if you had a webcam or a dedicated sound card.
