Weird graphics detection problem

For some reason my motherboard (or so I assume) only detects one type of graphics card, the Nvidia Geforce 9500 gt. I discovered this when my previous card had a broken fan, my brother gave me a Geforce GT220 and it wouldn't work.

I then got another card off of Amazon, a 650 I think. It too wouldn't work. Resorting to the crazy I bought another 9500 gt off of Ebay and it worked. I was wondering if anyone could come up with an answer.

Here is my system information

OS: Windows 7 32 bit
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E7200 @ 2.53 GHz
Graphics: Nvidia Geforce 9500 gt
Motherboard: ECS's GF7050VT-M
Power Supply: Total: 330 w Max: 480 w
Hard Drive: 465 GB

Any and all thoughts or solutions are welcome, I just want to know why and if it can be fixed or not.

Solution
You need a PSU that allows for more wattage, the 650 would use a lot more, plus the PSU you have is probably low-quality. Also, the 650 would probably be bottlenecked by your CPU (Intel Core 2 DUO, 2.53GHz).
