1 gb should be enough maybe a hair of an issue on higher settings. i know on 1808 in bf4 and 3 i was using about 1.5gb

1GB maybe be enough with lower graphical settings. However, most decent gaming cards come with 2GB+ anyway. Just get the best card you can for your money. For a gaming card I usually tell people get at least a GTX660 or AMD R9 270... If you have to dip lower just get the best you can. Toms guide on current cards is pretty decent with what to get at what price.
