I just bought some new G.Skill ram for my PC because I was told it would just downgrade itself. I plugged the ram into my computer and my motherboard isn't recognizing it. Any advice?

Solution
Try booting with 1 stick, go into BIOS and manually set the timings to 1333, timings to 9-9-9-24, DRAM voltage to 1.5 , save exit, shutdown, add second stick and then try and boot

Intel® Desktop Board DX48BT2, Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q9450 2.66 GHz, and the DRAM is G.Skill Ripjaw DDR3-1600 PC3-12800

So I installed the new ram, just 1 stick. But when k turned on my computer all I'm getting is a blank screen. Its not loading anything. Could that mean the ram is faulty?

I tried the other stick. Neither one would work. My computer would turn on, turn back off, and turn on again. The lights and everything on my computer would turn on but it wouldn't ever start to load.
