There are something wrong with my computer. These day my pc became extremely slow when I tried to open any folder. There are always the green process status on my input bar when I try to open "my computer". Sometimes, when I open control panel, there were nothing. So I try to use searching bar in order to open what I want, then there is a message said:" Your searches might be slow because the index is not running. Click to turn on the index. Then I just did what it said, but no respond. So I am wondering how could I solve this. The picture show when I try to open "my computer". If you know please tell me. Thanks

What are your PC specs?

1: run chkdsk: if you get any warnings, time to replace your HDD
2: run an AV scan
3: uninstall anything you don't use
4: defrag.

Don't change indexing settings, windows is pretty balanced out of the box and it won't be what's causing this issue.

Actually, what I mentioned is what cause my pc cannot open a folder immediately. For example, when I try to open "my computer", it show it is empty; and it take long time to process. But last week, I dont have this issue. My desktop work as well as before but opening folder. I use windows 8.1 now. If you have any idea please tell me. Thanks.
