Greetings all,

I would light to put together a camcorder for low light security videography and would be interested to get the input from the powers that be. Obviously PMT's would be ideal, but aren't going to happen for this sort of application.

Ideally, the camera alone would be sensitive enough to maximize the use of any additional IR/white lighting. The general outline follows and I appreciate any input, especially those that have attempted something similar.

Possible Specs:
Hardware
-Highest resolution rating for application
-Back illuminated CMOS with IR/UV filter removal
-Large low f-rate lens/ISO
-Slow frame rate to gather more light per frame

Real Time Image Processing
-Image fusion (if using more than one sensor)
-Contrast enhancement

Are there any further ideas, refinements, or suggestions?

You may find some suggestions, but this largely a PC hardware forum and you'd be better off in a dedicated camera forum.

Before you say it, I know we have a dedicated camera forum, but this is genuinely the first post I've seen on the front page!

Come on man! It's all tech, right!?  But seriously, thanks for the reply. I did some googling for a decent digital video camera forum, but didn't find any that were decent. Do you know of any off the top of your head?

Thanks
