I have a nvidia gtx 460 the last 2 days it's been crashing randomly and more frequently, first just hanging but being fixed with a reset, then today it won't even boot and will just cause a blue screen when you try and boot up in normal mode after the windows logo. I can boot up fine in safe mode so I was thinking it was a driver problem.
anyway i've uninstalled and tried the lastest nvidia drivers as well as a few older versions, to even much older versions and get the same error. I even tried a fresh new installation of windows 7 and am getting the exact same problem, if I just leave it as the default VGA it's fine, but as soon as I activate the nvidia drivers it will just blue screen on reboot after they are loaded.
I have an older 9500GT i'm using for the time being and it's running fine on the gtx 460 drivers, so there is obviously a bigger problem if the wrong card can work on these drivers but not the right card.
I haven't done anything or swapped anything recently it's just failed on it's own
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2500 CPU @ 3.30GHz (4 CPUs), ~3.3GHz
Memory: 8192MB RAM
