Freezing, incorrect memory timing?

Hi guys,
My old pc died this year do I had to build a new one.
From the start its had an issue with freezing, I ended up changing the setup on the memory timing best as I could as it wasn't doing it automatically.. which helped allot, but still freezes a fair bit.
It's mainly when browsing the net I notice, for example.. I can be using Chrome and it will freeze for up to 30 seconds... most of the time you can still change tabs and scroll but not load anything new, not even my computer!
Very rarely it will sometimes freeze the entire pc.
I can't say I've seen it ever freeze in game (Battle Field)

This is the memory timing, there's just so many settings I have no idea about, so not sure if its right or not!?
From what I found the timing should be - 9-9-9-27

Since getting the pc running initially I've changed the old GFX card to the one listed below and also put in a new network adaptor to rule that out.
Neither fixed the problem.
The only other thought it might be is the SSD, I read they can be a bit dodgy

I'm running..
Win7 Pro x64
MSI 970A-G46 AMD MOBO
AMD FX-6300 6-Core FX Series
120G KTC V300S37A/ 120G SSD
2GB MSI GTX650 OC PCI-E
Crucial 4GB DDR3 1866 MT/s (PC3-14900) CL9 @1.5V Ballistix Tactical Tracer UDIMM 240pin
OCZ ZS Series 650W 80+ Bronze PSU with 135mm Fan & single +12V Rail

Cheers Mark

There should be a setting in your bios for DOCP or EOCP or perhaps even XMP (even tho its kind of a lie b/c that is intel only) that should get you close your current timings are 9-11-11-29 not the 9-9-9-27 they are rated for though looser timings shouldn't be an issue.

I suggest changing the timings to 9-9-9-27, Dram Voltage to 1.55, and CPU/NB raise it .1v from whatever it is currently and see if this clears things up.

If none of that works try running memtest on the sticks individually to see if one of them is bad.

Thanks Supahos, not DOCP or EOCP but there is XMP and for some reason the XMP option is greyed out and I cannot select it!?
The voltage is up to 1.65 would it be safe to go up to 1.75?

no if it won't work at 1.55v more won't help the situation typically. Its not uncommon for FX processors to have trouble running @ 1866 so it may be just another case of a weak IMC on AMD's part, I would try running them at 1600 and see if that works. 8-9-9-24 should be doable @ 1600
