My current setup

What's up guys? Just thought I'd get some expert advice about my next upgrade. This is the first pc I've ever built. its been about a year and she still runs strong, but I'm feeling the itch to upgrade. I'm still a little fuzzy on all the different gpus out there, and im not sure what the next step up would be. I run a single 24 inch monitor and I mostly run rts and strategy games (total war series etc) with the occasional rpg (skyrim, tor, guild wars) all on max settings. I'm just wondering what you guys think would be a good next step up from my current setup.

Your CPU is upto the mark as stated earlier. As you want to broaden your game playing horizon, including FPS such as Battlefield, COD, you will definitely require a much powerful GPU. Now regarding GPU you can go with 780 / 780 Ti / 290 / 280X as so on. It all depends upon your budget and playing experience requirement. I will advice yo to go with 280X / 760 ( go for 280x if it's $30-50 dearer) if you plan to max out most of games at 1080p over next 2-3 games

What are your reason for upgrading ? Is it that you want to play more graphics intensive games, then yes go for a new graphics card, probably 760 or 280X will suffice you.
Your processor is upto the mark though

My reason for upgrading is really just future proofing. Also I typically only played strategy type games on my pc, but now I want to start throwing more rpg and fps games at it. So I'm just making sure it's up to the task....
