Mother board and mounting the heatsink on it

Hi i have this kind of mother board,

Question how come i can't mount the Heat sink onto the motherboard?? Do i need the bracket? and why didn't the CPU come with one?

Well, all it is is the Metal Fin's on the heat sink, and the actual fan under it.. the fan has screws on it, but i think that just connects the fan to the fin's.

there should be a 2.5 inch long piece of thin metal that bisects the heatsink........... it's the hold down bracket. isn't it there?........... and can you post a pic of what you have?

Yeah i think i know what you are talking about, sorry im kinda new to this myself, but how do i take it out and attach it?? and also, it only ask for picture with a link, how can i upload pictures?

Now i see it, hehe, how the hell do i attach it on though? Or take it off?..

make sure the handle is in the right position and in the direction towards the top of the MB.....(.not by the pci-e slots)

you need to strip the plastic cover from the heatsink ( if there is one )........ set it into position on the cpu, push down on the pci-e side to hook it to the motherboard bracket. then you need to do the same with the top end. it will probably be a little tight and need a little effort. once in place, flip the thumb catch to snug the heatsink to the bracket/cpu.

if it is extremely difficult or doesn't line up right.......... the the bracket might need to be manipulated a little to sit right........ ( when it's in your hand ( the hs ) the bracket should move freely. then set it on the cpu and do the above.

Okay ive got it good, Btw, where could i put the wires? just tuck them in somewhere? near the ram?

where ever the fit. keep them away from the fan blades.
