Hi,I'm looking to run a dual monitor display in a gaming rig I'm making, but the card I'm looking at only has 1x hdmi port, but 2x dvi ports. Is dvi the way to go nowadays? I always thought that hdmi was better?

Solution
Dvi supports higher resolutions than HDMI, if you are using 1920x1080 resolution monitors you will not notice a difference between HDMI and DVI

HDMI Max resolution (Normally unless you have a new version of hdmi) = 1920x1080
DVI Max Resolution = 3,840 × 2,400

You shoud be able to hook both monitors up just fine. DVI and HDMI pretty much run the same except DVI doesnt carry sound. Anytime you have one connection you can switch the other just by usinga cabe (no adapter). Even if both your monitors are HDMI, all you wil need is a DVI to HDMI cable. I run a 7950 with 4 monitors on it. 1x runs DVI. 1x runs HDMI and carries my sound to my receiver. The last 2 run displayport.
